Global Hub for Technology, Innovation and Creativity

The University’s position globally has played a significant role in the development of NUI Galway’s suite of postgraduate programmes. The location, on the west coast of Ireland, the gateway to Europe, sets the scene for the University’s distinctive global hub for technology, innovation and creativity. Galway is an internationally recognised centre of excellence for medtech, data science, culture and creativity, climate and oceans, public policy and innovation. The wellspring of industry and research excellence has led to an exceptionally rich ecosystem in our city which informs and drives innovation in our postgraduate education which spans the over 200 taught postgraduate programmes on offer in 2022. Within this ecosystem, lecturers, researchers, students and industry are highly engaged and postgraduate students are encouraged and facilitated to tap into the wealth of expertise and opportunity in the region.
