I mean it’s technically “a response” but Cahill was presented in anti-vaxx/lockdown media as a scientific expert using her connection to institutions such as UCD to give herself credibility. She would never have been given these platform as a “private citizen” and definitely not have been taken seriously without being a Professor in what to the lay public (not those with a scientific background) appears to be a relevant skill set to SARS-2/COVID-19.

UCD are choosing to not directly say her claims are unsubstantiated, dangerous, or outright false. Only that she does not represent the position taken by the University. I hope UCD comes out with a much stronger rebuke of Prof. Cahill’s statements, as other institutions she has used to steal some credibility for her conspiracy theories have already done.
